Quinette Cook lives in Eden Prairie, Minnesota with her husband, two children and a Weimaraner named Jazz. At age four she held her first gallery show. It consisted of one large piece executed in black crayon on the wall behind the sofa. Her mother’s review was highly critical. Despite this she went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota with a
BA in Commercial Art and Design. She has held a variety of creative roles during her career – production artist, art director, designer, brand design manager and creative director. Currently she is freelancing, illustrating a children’s picture book and writing a middle-grade novel.
Quinette has studied illustrating and painting with artists
Eric Rohmann, Carrie Hartman, Cheng-Khee Chee, Jim Smith,
David Feinberg, and Malcolm Meyers. She has taken writing classes
at the LOFT Literary Center from Alison McGhee, Lisa Bullard and
Mary Carroll Moore.
